Renowned mathematician Dr Mangala Naralikar passed away in Pune on Monday morning after a prolonged illness. She was 80. She was the wife of renowned scientist Dr Jayant Naralikar. She was a great mathematician, writer, teacher, researcher, and thinker.
Born on May 17, 1943, she did BA from Mumbai University in 1962 and later MA in Mathematics in 1964. She was the topper in the University and was awarded a Gold Medal. She worked as a teacher and researcher at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, Cambridge University, Mumbai, and Pune Universities.
