A massive fire erupted this morning in an old building located near platform number seven of Nagpur’s main railway station. The building is situated in close proximity to a railway yard, where maintenance and repair work on electrical equipment for trains take place. Additionally, the office of the section engineer is also located nearby.
The fire was first noticed by employees arriving for work at approximately 9:30 to 10:00 AM, as they spotted smoke emanating from the office. Suspecting a fire outbreak, the employees promptly informed their superiors. Railway officials, along with railway security forces and railway police, rushed to the scene to assess the situation.
With caution, they opened the doors and windows of the office, revealing a massive blaze emanating from inside. The fire rapidly consumed substantial material within the building, leading to a challenging firefighting operation for the authorities. Further details on the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be disclosed as investigations continue.
