First few spells of heavy rain and this monsoon has caused waterlogging at many places in the city leading to traffic jams, especially during the peak hours. Potholes on the roads add to the woes of the motorists.
The pre-monsoon work of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has been exposed. Due to the lack of proper cleaning of rain drains, it was seen that rain water accumulated on many roads. Padole Hospital Chowk, Sadar Raj Bhavan Road, Mount Road, Friends Colony area had a large amount of water on the roads.
Motorists are suffering due to large number of potholes on many roads in the city. Due to rain, the number of pothole accidents has increased. there are potholes on the main road at Prajapati Nagar, Jagdish Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Automotive Chowk, Sakkardara. Moreover, the cover on the drainage has disappeared in many areas, increasing the risk of accidents.
Citizens are suffering due to daily accumulation of water under Narendra nagar RUB. as the water motor stops frequently, a large amount of water accumulates here. as a result, there is a huge traffic jam. Citizens are demanding that the Municipal Corporation should find a permanent solution to this problem.
Cement road works are going on in many places in Nagpur, it is affecting the traffic to a great extent. Wardha Road, Dikshaboomi Road, Narendra nagar, Manish nagar, Mahal areas are witnessing traffic jam for hours in the evening.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Nagpur and bhandara District. heavy rain is forecast for one more day in both the district. in the last four-five days, rain has lashed most of the districts of Vidarbha. On Wednesday night there was heavy rain everywhere in Nagpur district, 49.4 mm of rain was recorded.
