The Orange City Taxi Owners Association has claimed that the e-taxi, which was recently launched in the municipal corporation is running limited kilometers and the work of the officials is being affected. The association demanded that the tender of this e-taxi should be canceled and a new tender should be issued for CNG and petrol taxis. The NMC recently hired 25 e-taxi for officers.
The delegation led by Subhash Ghate, President of Orange City Taxi Owners Association Met Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary and submit a memorandum. It has been ten days since the launch of the new e-taxi and during this period the limitations of this taxi have been revealed. After full charging, this taxi runs only 120 km. Officers often have to go to Zones and Civil Lines Office, Courts etc.
Apart from electric vehicles, the municipal corporation had also invited tenders for petrol, diesel and CNG vehicles. But after this tender only electric vehicles were tendered.
