The state government has approved 113 health wellness centers in Nagpur. NMC is going to start a total of 20 centers this year. Out of these four centers have been started and the work of 16 centers is in progress. 93 centers will be started in the next year and the place is being decided for this.
As slum area will be given priority for this center, medical infrastructure will be increased in this area. Apart from municipal hospitals, there are 48 Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC) in the city and three will be opened soon. Health officials said that the corporation intends to start two centers in each UPHC area. The state government has sanctioned 113 centers for the city. Out of these centers have been started at Rahate Toli in Ramteke nagar, Gorle Layout, Roznagar in Zingabai Takli area, Shyamnagar in Lakadganj area.
A ‘boost’ to the health of Nagpur residents of 113 centers, remaining 16 health wellness centers are in progress. One doctor, two nurses, one dresser and one cleaning staff will be appointed by the government for this center. The maintenance and repair work here will be done by the Municipal Corporation. Slum areas will be given priority for health wellness centers and residents will get treatment at a modest cost.
The state government has also approved four polyclinics in the city and they will be opened at Kapilnagar, Manewada, KT Nagar, Hivari Nagar. 7 different specialists will treat patients in this polyclinic. It includes Obstetricians, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, Diagnosticians, Dermatologists etc. Psychiatrist, Diagnostician, Dermatologist once in a fortnight and Examination, Obstetrician, Paediatrician once in a week.
