A case of molestation and atrocity has been registered against Sub Regional Transport Officer Ravindra Bhuyar. Case has been registered on the complaint of a woman officer.
There has been a dispute between Bhuyar and the concerned female officer for a long time. The woman had already complained against Bhuyar to the senior officials of the transport department. Many accusations were made in this regard. Similarly, a bribe of 25 lakhs was demanded from Bhuyar by bringing up the name of Legislative Council member Wajahat Mirza on this issue and both were arrested in this case, the woman finally complained to the police and the police registered a case against Bhuyar.
Bhuyar used to call her to his cabin for no reason and make her sit for a long time. also, obscene videos were shown on mobile phones under the pretext of showing road safety clippings. Bhuyar also resorted to caste abuse. Unwanted discussions about her were spread among the associate officers and employees of the department. the woman officer complained that he threatened to get involved in the ACB case for not listening to him. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case against Bhuyar under molestation, abuse, threats and atrocity.
The female officer had complained to the Transport Commissioner on January 16, 2023 about Bhuyar’s continuous sexual harassment. The Transport Commissioner then ordered the Grievance Redressal Committee to investigate the matter. the Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee had submitted an inquiry report to the Transport Commissioner on March 1, 2023. however, no further action was taken due to the civil court’s injunction. Consequently, the complainant woman officer filed a petition in the High Court.
