Two groups of students clashed with iron pipes in Government Ayurveda College and Hospital. Although ragging has been reported in this case, prima facie it appears that it was caused by an internal dispute. The college administration has expelled 10 students from the hostel in this case.
A cultural program was held in February 2023 at Government Ayurveda College. The students had collected donations for that. The balance amount was invested in a fixed deposit in a bank. This amount is planned to be used in the next program. Meanwhile, the cost of this program has not yet been calculated. A dispute is going on between two groups of students over that.
On July 22, a student was beaten up by a student from another group in the classroom. After that, the friends of the battered went directly to the hostel and attacked the student. At this time some had iron pipes. After being beaten with this pipe, out of the four injured, three received medical treatment and one received first aid treatment at the Ayurveda College itself. A junior student was also injured in the scuffle. He filed a ragging complaint with the National Ragging Committee naming the boys from both the groups. When the Ayurveda College inquired about it, prima facie it came out that this was due to dispute. The college administration has also sent the preliminary report to the concerned system. Ten students named in this case have been expelled. A complaint has also been lodged with Sakkardara police. The police will begin the investigation.
