KKSU conducts awareness programme on NEP
The National Education Policy (NEP) should be accepted by all with an open mind. The NEP aims at changes from the grassroots level. Besides opening the doors for pursuing education as per the students’ wishes and aptitude, the NEP also provided the opportunity to acquire vocational skills in a wide range of fields, said noted academician and former Vice-Chancellor Dr Muralidhar Chandekar.
The NEP also helps in changing the courses at any point of time. Like the ancient Gurukul system the NEP has been drafted to suit the original education system, he said.
Dr Chandekar was speaking during the inauguration of the week-long programme to inform teachers, students and general people about the NEP, organized by Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU), Ramtek.
Vice-Chancellor of KKSU Dr Hareram Tripathy presided. Registrar Dr Ramchandra Joshi, Deans Dr Madhusudan Penna, Prof Kavita Hole, Prof Krishnakumar Pandey, Prof Lalita Chandratre, Prof Harekrishna Agasti, Convenor of the programme Dr Smita Fadnavis were present.
Prof Agasti informed that the curriculums for undergraduate and postgraduate courses have been prepared and are being implemented from the academic session 2023-24.
In his presidential address, Dr Tripathy informed about the curriculum and said that now education can be pursued in mother tongue and regional language. The NEP helps in achieving self-reliance for the nation.
