Government Medical College and Hospital Nagpur (GMCH) has completed 75 years. A platinum jubilee celebration has been organized on the occasion. For this, a fee of Rs 4,000 is being collected from graduate students and Rs 8,000 from postgraduate students and there are complaints that the documents of students who do not pay this amount are being withheld.
A link was sent on WhatsApp to the GMC degree, postgraduate students by the committee. It was said that a fee of Rs 8,000 each for medical professors, associate professors, assistant professors, resident doctors, and graduate students Rs 4,000 has been fixed for registration of participation in this event. Various no-objection certificates and clearance certificates are being given from the student section only after payment. Some students opposed the act.
Dr. Raj Gajbhiye, Superintendent of GMC said that students along with officers and staff are voluntarily paying the registration fee. He denied the claim and said nobody’s documents were withheld.
