The Election Commission has started preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. election commission has invited representatives of recognized political parties for first level checking of EVMs and VVPAT machines. District Collector Vipin Itankar gave this information in a press conference held on Monday.
A total of 4464 polling stations have been earmarked in two Lok Sabha constituencies of the district Ramtek and Nagpur. 10,450 Ballot Units, 5900 Control Units and 5560 VVPAT will be used. New M3 Voting Machines have been received from the Election Commission of India for Nagpur District. The new M3 voting machines have been manufactured and provided by Bharat Electronics Limited (BHEL)
The acceptance testing process of the new EVM and VVPAT machines received as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India has been completed by the engineer of the manufacturer Bharat Electronics Limited. all the new and old EVM and VVPAT machines are kept in EVM godown of Maharashtra State Vakhar Nigam, Hingana Industrial Area Wadi-Hingana Complex.
First Level Inspection of Voting Machines is necessary before voting in any election. First Level Checking of all new and old EVMs and VVPAT machines available in this office will be done from 1 to 25 August 2023 from 9 am to 7 pm everyday. For this, a team of 20 trained engineers has been made available by Bharat Electronics Limited Company. Only those Voting Machines found valid during the First Level Verification (FLC) will be used for the election. Voting machines found defective during the first level inspection will be sent back to the company.
