On Monday, Indian Meteorological Department predicted that east Vidarbha will receive normal to above rainfall in the month of August.
According to sources the Vidarbha received 43 percent rain in the month of July. The region received rainfall of 441.9mm rain against 309.3mm rain. Last year the rains received in the district was 259.6mm average rains.
In the month of July Yavatmal received excess rainfall of 529.3mm. the lowest rain was received by the Gondia district of 406.7 mm against 428.6 mm average rainfall. Nagpur district recorded rainfall of 404.3mm against 317.3 mm average rainfall. The city recorded 127mm of rainfall in 24 hours on 26th July.
Washim and Chandrapur districts recorded 50% and 58% above-normal rainfall in the month of July. Due to the shortfall of air pressure, some regions of Vidarbha remained dry.
