15 railway stations of Nagpur division of Central Railway will be rejuvenated and all stations will be made hi-tech. For this, a fund of Rs 372 crore has been approved by the Railway ministry. This work will be done under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform its Bhoomi Pujan through virtual medium on August 6.
Divisional Railway Manager of Nagpur Division, Tusharkant pandey said that, “On August 6, PM Modi will launch the AMRUT Bharat scheme for the development of stations through video conferencing. 500 stations in different zones across the country have been selected for this scheme. While 15 stations of Nagpur division of Central Railway will be developed under this scheme. These include Chandrapur, Ballarpur along with Narkhed, Amla, Godhani, Junnar Deo, Katol, Betul, Sevagram, Dhamangaon, Ghoradongri, Pulgaon, Multai, Pandhurna and one more station.
There is a lack of facilities at many railway stations of Vidarbha. Due to this, all these railway stations will be developed in the first phase through the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
The facilities to be built include escalators, slabs, foot over bridges, platform shelters, main gates, parking areas, lift toilets, waiting rooms, garden beautification. Some of these works are in progress and some are under tender process.
