Everyone needs a spot where they can truly be themselves. Your favourite corner in your home serves as a private retreat for everyone. &TV artists discuss the special corners of their homes where they love to spend most of their time. These include Manisha Arora (Mahua, Doosri Maa), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki UltanPaltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Manisha Arora, aka Mahua from Doosri Maa, shares, “In the heart of my Mumbai home lies a personal masterpiece I crafted – a haven of relaxation and joy. It has two inviting sofas, a charming centre table, and a petite bookshelf gracefully perched above. My vision was about simplicity. This cosy abode is my go-to spot for pure enjoyment. Whenever I am here, life feels like a blissful adventure. It is a private escape where I immerse myself in captivating books, lose track of time with fantastic detail movies, and dance to the rhythm of my all-time favourite tunes. The magic of this corner never fails to delight me. The place is privy to all my secrets (laughter). It is like a confidant who keeps my innermost thoughts safe. But that’s not all; it is also a place where I self-reflect. I meticulously examine my work, seeking ways to elevate it. The atmosphere oozes comfort and, surrounded by my ideas, fills me with boundless happiness and positivity. And that’s my comfort zone, where I spend much time uncovering the wonders of imagination and creativity. This little corner of mine is where magic happens!”
Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “In my home, the end corner of my sofa holds a special place in my heart. It faces the balcony, offering a perfect spot to unwind. I read, scroll through my phone, watch TV, or relax and nap peacefully. This cosy nook is ideal for friendly chats with my son. What makes it even more fascinating are the captivating natural light, refreshing air, and picturesque views from the balcony. It is a slice of serenity right inside my home. I’ve created my library here, filled with all my favourite books. I can delve into the magical world of reading and writing any time of the day. Our routines and comfort spots may change with our moods, but this corner remains my ultimate stress buster. It is my little haven of serenity, where I escape the world and find solace in the simple joys of life.” Shubhangi Atre, aka AngooriBhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Our home, a cherished labour of love between my daughter and me, holds a special gem – our living room’s balcony adorned with my favourite plants. This enchanting space invites me to savour hot coffee while diving into captivating books amidst a warm glow of lights. I am drawn here, sitting and singing to my plants with song, nurturing their growth and blossoming. With abundant sunlight blessing our living room, my daughter and I have lovingly adorned it with our handpicked décor. However, it is the balcony that truly steals my heart. Here, I feel most alive, creative, and content. The cool breeze and lush greenery surround me, creating a peaceful escape. It is a comforting and happy place where I feel in harmony with nature.”
