Nagpur, which is the heart of the nation has attracted many industries. Renowned companies are investing in Nagpur. Prominent IT companies, besides others, have already started their units here. Nagpur is being viewed as an ideal place by various companies, said Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari was speaking during the Vidarbha IT Conclave, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), at IIM’s auditorium in MIHAN, on Saturday. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the guest of honour. CII Maharashtra Unit President Dr Nandkumar, IIM Director Dr Bhimraya Maitry were present.
Nagpur has Zero Mile and is connected to all the major cities in the country. With the completion of works at Nagpur’s International Airport, more facilities for import-export will be available. Soon Nagpur will be known as a logistic hub. In this situation Nagpur will be an ideal place for industries, Gadkari said.
Most of the big cities are facing problems of pollution and traffic congestion. Nagpur, however, is a better place in this context and has the capacity to develop as a good smart city. Gadkari said that better gardens, sports arenas and other facilities should be developed for raising the standard of life of people in Nagpur. Efforts towards this are being made.
Nagpur is also capable of providing better facilities including houses and public transport for workers in industries, he added.
