The sub-registrar offices will now charge extra fees for e-filing from citizens, the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) office in Pune said.
The ruling intends to raise state government revenue and would go into effect on August 7.
In 2016, the government launched Version-I, but only for banks, not for the general public. Filing fees were not included back then, but they would be applied now. Beginning in 2020, both banks and citizens began using Version-II.
Under e-registration, charges will be ₹300 for leave and license agreement, 1,000 for tenament sale agreement and 300 for filing service under Version-I.
The percentage of e-registration and e-filing is to increase in the future while the percentage of registration and filing of traditional documents would reduce.
It is worth mentioning here that the convenience charges applied by government companies on e-payments have already attracted criticism from various sec- tions of society.
