Considering the increasing number of brawls and disturbances reported recently in bars and pubs, the Nagpur City Police have issued a stern advisory to owners of beer bars, permit rooms, restaurants, and other.
The move is to ensure law and order and safety of citizens.
According to a press communique, noncompliance is a direct violation of the order under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) dated June 29. Establishment operating beyond the stipulated time limit of 1.30 am.
Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has issued a warning to bar and pub operators. Commissioner said, “Incidents of frequent brawls are coming to the fore in pubs and bars that operate till late night. Due to such incidents concerns are being raised on law and order.
Commissioner has warned pub owners to follow rules and close the establishments on time. Along with this, the commissioner has warned that if the rules are not followed, strict action will be taken against such bars and pubs.
In the advisory issued by the commissioner’s office, the commissioner said, “It has come to our notice that some bars/permit rooms/restaurants etc. are operating beyond the stipulated time limit of 01:30 am. This is in clear violation of order under section 144 of CRPC.” “It has been observed that the fights are mainly taking place in such establishments which are running beyond the time limit and seriously impacting the law and order situation and especially the safety of women,” he said.
The Commissioner has advised such establishments to carefully read the instructions contained in the order of even number under section 144 of CRPC and avoid any illegality. On the other hand, after this, if any establishment violates the rules and continues for more than one and a half hours, then strict action will be taken against them.
