The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has recovered three packets of drugs from a youth who came to Nagpur on a Dubai Air Arabia flight on Sunday. The value of the seized drugs is known to be in lakhs of rupees. DRI has taken this action on the basis of confidential information. Two-three days ago, a person was caught while smuggling gold at Nagpur airport.
The Customs and DRI department received information that illegal goods are about to arrive from the Air Arabia flight. The officials started fielding at Nagpur airport at night to catch the goods. The flight landed in Nagpur at 4.10 am. During the snacking, an iron object was seen by the Customs and DRI. There is no restriction on the transportation of iron, but when the news was confirmed, DRI decided to break the motor pump.
The officers took the person into custody. The person told that it is a motor pump only. When the officials broke the motor pump with a hammer, three packets came out of it. The drugs were packed in black water to avoid being caught in the scan. Drug smuggling has been caught for the first time at Nagpur airport.
