Lack of awareness about traffic rules is a major reason for a large number of accidents. There is a need to generate awareness about traffic rules among children to senior citizens. This was stated by the Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority (HLSA) Sachin Patil.
Patil was speaking during an awareness programme at a Junior College in Dighori. Sachin Patil was in the chair. Traffic Superintendent from RTO Monali Rathod, Assistant Superintendent Snehal Parashar, and DBA President Adv Roshan Bagde were the resource persons.
Besides informing about provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act the speaker said that negligence in traffic rules can cause the death of innocent persons and vehicle riders. Allowing children below 18 years of age to ride a vehicle can invite stern action against the parents.
Adv Bagde gave information about claims under the Motor Vehicles Act, the benefits of insurance. Parashar made a PowerPoint presentation on traffic rules.
Principal Rajesh Masurkar made introductory remarks. College teacher Gaikwad conducted the proceedings. Shalini Bhagat proposed a vote of thanks.
