State Information Nagpur Commissioner Rahul Pande has directed the Chief Secretary to investigate two complaints pending against the then Commissioner of NMC Tukaram Mundhe. Pandey has expressed displeasure that for the last three years, no action has been taken by the police and higher authorities on these complaints.
East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde had filed a petition in the Commission seeking information about the complaints, but the police did not provide him. Mundhe is currently working as the secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development.
In June 2019, the then mayor Sandeep Joshi and ruling party leader Sandeep Jadhav filed a complaint against Mundhe, the then CEO of the Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited, and two others at the Sadar police station. Mundhe was accused of illegally sanctioning Rs 20 crore to contractors.
After this, the police sent a letter to the chairman of NSSCDCL in an official sealed cover for further action. But neither the then speaker Praveen Pardeshi nor his successor Dr.Sanjay Mukherjee took any action. Therefore, SIC Rahul Pandey has directed the Chief Secretary to personally look into the complaint.
