With the inspiration and blessings of Shrila Lokanath Swami Maharaj Kirtan samrat and beloved disciple of founder Acharya of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) A.C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, food is prepared for the purpose of donations and free distribution in the Smt Swarnalata and Sri Govind Dasji Sarraf (Tumsarwale) centralized kitchen at Ramanuj Nagar, Kalamana Market to Bharatwada Road
The scheme to distribute food to relatives of AIIMS patients in Mihan was formally inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s wife and Chief Guest of the event Mrs. Kanchantai Gadkari. Shashank Garg, CEO & Founder, Infocepts Technologies Pvt Ltd presided over the event. Besides that, the company’s Global Head CSR and Admin Sunil Narvare, AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Manish Srigiriwar, Director of VNIT Pramod Padole and VNIT’s Dr. Dilip Peshwe, Annamrita Foundation Nagpur’s Manager Rajendran Raman and Chairman Dr. Shyam Sundar Sharma were present on the dais. The program was started by lighting the lamp by the guests. The programe was moderated by Apoorva Kahu of Infocepts.
Firstly, Rajendra Raman outlined the Annamrita Foundation. Srila Prabhupada once saw children and dogs fighting over bread. Hence, he started the Food for Life initiative in ISKCON. Annamrit Foundation is a part of this scheme. Under this scheme, during the Covid-19 lockdown, seven and a half lakh needy people were served with free food. Laborers migrating from Nagpur and to all passengers of shramik trains were also given food. Also, arrangements have been made for nutritional food for malnourished children and pregnant mothers in Melghat. A centralized kitchen is also under construction in Tumsar.
Sunil Narvare said that we are trying to give back a part of the income to the society through Annamrita Foundation. Apart from this, such programs are being implemented by Infocepts in various sectors of the society and in various countries.
Dr. Manish Srigiriwar of AIIMS said that the Annamrita Foundation’s program being held here is a big thing for AIIMS. Relatives of patients here have to go by for breakfast, for which they have to spend 100 rupees on auto itself. Now free breakfast and lunch facilities have been made available by Annamrita.
Shashank Garg said that today Infocepts and AIIMS are side by side but thanks to Annamrita Foundation for bringing us together for social service through Annamrita.
Appreciating Infocepts and Annamrita Foundation, Kanchan Tai Gadkari congratulated them on the food donation programme. She said, in our culture it is said that harinam should be taken, food should be donated and pride shall be given up. It is true that there is no other virtue like donating food.
Dr. Pramod Padole and Dr. Dilip Peshwe said that we are proud of our student Shashank Garg, seeing how he is fulfilling his Social responsibility.
On behalf of Infocepts, Shashank Garg and his team handed over a check of Rs.6 lakh for food donation to Annamrita Foundation which was received by Kanchantai Gadkari and all Directors of Annamrita Foundation Nagpur Dr. Shyamsunder Sharma, Rajendran Raman, Bhagirath Das and Praveen Sahani.
Annamrita Foundation presented a photo frame of Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar to all the guests. Infocepts gifted plant saplings to all the guests and the Annamrita team.
Later Chairman of Annamrita Foundation Nagpur Dr. Shyamsunder Sharma thanked Kanchantai Gadkari for giving her valuable time to encourage this program. After thanking all the guests and dignitaries who participated in the program, special thanks were also given to Deepak Joshi, Public Relations Officer of MADC, who provided special support in making the program a success.
After this the Dining Hall was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon by Kanchantai Gadkari and other guests. Finally, the guests served food to the patients’ relatives with their own hands.
