Central Railway has commissioned the new third line of 25 km Manmad-Nandgaon. After the successful completion of the electric engine speed trial run on the newly opened third line on the Manmad-Nandgaon stretch, it has been announced to start.
It has marked a significant milestone within the ambitious 183.94 km Bhusawal-Manmad 3rd line electrified project. This achievement follows meticulous safety inspections and speed trials of up to 130 kmph, overseen by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) Central Circle.
A total of 47 bridges including 6 major and 41 minor bridges are to be constructed for the construction of this rail section. In addition, the project includes important works such as interlocking, signalling and overhead equipment (OHE) research.
The completion of this new third line will also reduce congestion on the Manmad-Bhusawal section of the Mumbai-Howrah busy route. The Railways says that this change will not only increase operational efficiency but also increase the speed of trains across the entire rail network, thereby improving the travel experience.
