Nagpur-Mumbai High Speed Bullet Train route is proposed parallel to Samruddhi highway. It will be a 741 km elevated high speed rail line. the DPR of this project has been prepared. This DPR has been submitted to the Railway Board recently. The Railway Board will study this DPR in detail and send this proposal to the Centre. The work of this proposed bullet train route is expected to start soon.

Total Length : 742 km.
Less land acquisition as it is parallel to Samriddhi Highway, Land acquisition requirements only 1250 hectares
This project will pass through 10 districts while other 13 districts will be indirectly benefited
15 stations are proposed on this route.Mumbai, Thane, Shahpur, Ghoti, Nashik, Shirdi, Aurangabad, Jalna, Mehkar, Malegaon, Karanja Lad, Pulgaon, Wardha, Khapri, Ajni
Currently the journey takes 12 to 15 hours, once the project is completed it will be reduced to three and a half hours
The speed of the bullet train on this route will be 320 km per hour, the actual speed will be 250 km per hour
The cost of this project will be Rs 200 crore per km.
The total cost is one to one and a half lakh crore rupees
The proposal for this project was prepared in 2019.
Air Leader Survey of this project was also conducted on March 2021.
Preparation of detailed project report or DPR for this project was started on November 2021.
The DPR has been prepared and submitted by the Railway Board on March 2022 and soon the Railway Board will study it in detail and submit this report to the Central Government.
This project will boost the development of 11 districts of the state.
