On the Igatpuri-Manmad track, Central Railway (CR) plans to boost the CSMT-Shirdi Vande Bharat train’s speed to an impressive 130 kmph. Due to poor track conditions, India’s fastest train, the Vande Bharat Express, has been travelling at an average speed of just 83 kmph during the past two years despite having a top speed of 180 kmph.
