A hotel manager was detained by Bajaj Nagar police after defrauding the owner of lakhs of rupees. In order to deposit the online transaction, the defendants formed a joint bank account in the restaurant’s name. Arjun Jaiswal, a 31-year-old inhabitant of Ujjwal Nagar, is the name of the suspect who was apprehended.
The complainant Ashish Kowle (39), a resident of Patel Nagar, had started The Common Ground Sports Cafe and Restaurant in 2020 near Bajaj Nagar Square. He appointed Arjun as manager. Arjun was looking after the marketing, financial affairs of the hotel and submitting full accounts at the end of the month. His behavior had changed since 2022.
He used to abuse employees and withhold their salaries by arguing for no reason. When the complaint asked him about it, Arjun argued with Kowle as well. He was fired in October 2022.
A few days ago, Kowle came to know that in August 2022, Arjun had opened a bank account using the restaurant’s Gomasta certificate and fake food license. He used to transfer the money through online delivery directly into the new account.
The police registered a case of cheating against Arjun and arrested him from a hotel in Ajni. He confessed to the crime. The police also seized 2 lakh from his possession.
