The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Nagpur has sentenced Ajaz Hussain Siddiqui, a former official of Western Coalfields Limited posted at Sillewara Sub Area, Nagpur, to undergo six years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 22.95 Lakh. His wife Sajiya Begum will undergo four years of Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 4.50 Lakh.
CBI had registered a case on 1st February 2005 against Ajaz Hussain Siddiqui, then Chute-man, AB Incline, Sillewara Sub Area, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), Nagpur, on the allegations that the accused had possessed huge assets, both movable and immovable, either in his name or in the name of his family members. The investigations revealed that Ajaz Hussain Siddiqui was in possession of assets to the tune of Rs.17,71,324/- in his name and in the name of his wife Sajia Begum, disproportionate to their known sources of income.
After investigations, a charge sheet was filed before the Special Judge, Nagpur on November 30, 2006, against both the accused. The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
In another case, the Special Judge, Nagpur, has sentenced Irshad Hussain Siddiqui, then Mechanic Fitter, WCL, Nagpur, to undergo five years of Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 13.65 Lakh. CBI had registered a case on November 30, 2006, against Irshad Hussain Siddiqui, Mechanic Fitter, AB Incline, Sillewara Sub Area, Western Coalfields Limited, Nagpur, on the allegations that during the period May 1996 to February 2005, the accused was in possession of huge assets. The Investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of assets to the tune of Rs.10,77,367/-, which is disproportionate to his known sources of income. After investigations, a charge sheet was filed before the Special Judge, Nagpur on January 30, 2008, against the accused. The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted him.
