Fit India Movement is a nationwide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and
fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. The movement was launched by
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 29 August 2019.
In honour of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand Singh’s birth anniversary, DAIMSR
observed National Sports Day.
The sports day was organized with zeal and passion, and competitions such as chess tournaments, sack races, rope jumping, plank challenges, lemon spoon races, and walk races were organised. In all, 475 students participated. Dr. Sumant Wachasundar ,Prof. Kothiram Giraswale, Prof. Nikhil Khandar Prof. Jayant Gondane and Prof. Tejas Walokar coordinated the event and put in a lot of work to make it a success. Dr. Monika Jain, Head, of BCCA, Dr. Sarang Javkhedkar, Head of MCM and NSS In charge, and Dr. Saket Bansod, Head of BBA praised the academic members’ and volunteers’ efforts.
