Ahead of an all-party meeting on the issue of the Maratha reservation, Maharashtra Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis says, “The questions related to any community is beyond the politics. Be it government or Opposition, everyone should think about the betterment of the community and a consensus should be reached. The attempt of today’s meeting would be to get a broad consensus. Be it Maratha or any other community, especially after the hunger strike of Manoj Jarange Patil, whatever the issues and demands, the state will try to make decisions for the benefit of communities.
He further said “The government will not allow any injustice to be done to the OBC community, this is the fear in the minds of the OBC community that their reservation will be reduced. The government has no such intention, I appeal to the OBC community that they should not indulge in any kind of misunderstanding. The government will not take any such decision where two communities stand in front of each other. Leaders of all parties should try not to hurt the sentiments of any community before giving statements. I assure the OBC community on behalf of my government”.
