Midam Charitable Trust, an NGO based in Pondicherry, released “निसर्गाच्या माध्यमातून शिक्षण”-“Nisargachya madhyamatun shikshan” the Marathi translation of the Learning Through Nature (LTN) written by FounderSri Madhusudan Damle and translated by Mr. Arvind Chandorkar at Nagpur on 10th September 2023 at the Press Club, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The personality development module was launched in the august presence of eminent social workers of Nagpur who were the Guests of Honor namely Mrs. Vasanthi Bhagwat, Secretary, Seva Sadan Educational Institute, Mrs. Malini Joshi, Senior Manager, National Cancer Institute, Flt.Lt. Miss.Shiwalee Deshpande, Secretary, Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha Mr. Sushrut Badhe, Secretary- Midam Trust and Mr. Arvind Chandorkar, Trustee.
The English language module “Learning from Nature- a manual for champion students” which introduces personality development lessons subtly in the form of dialogue between teacher and students in 19 different locations such as river front, garden, food court, hill station and even jail to teach practical principles in a unique manner was first launched in the Pondicherry Heritage festival in Feb 2023 and the free teaching module has now become a part of the training programs offered by many schools and colleges in Pondicherry with more than 400 children already enrolled into this program. With the Marathi translation, Midam trust has now introduced the Module in Nagpur in English and Marathilanguages.
Mr. Sushrut Badhe, secretary of Midam Trust & CEO of KVM Research Labs which manufactures 100% natural ayurvedic products, highlighted the role of this module in improving the dialogue between students, teachers & parents. Mrs. Vasanti Bhagwat, with over 40 years of teaching experience in Seva Sadan Educational Institute, shared anecdotal experiences which she remembered while going through the course contents, highlighting the importance of self-discipline and contribution of citizens towards the society. Mrs. Malini Joshi, emphasized the therapeutic potential of dialogue between individuals from her lived experienceswhile working with cancer patients of all ages and expressed that this module is promoting the much-needed dialogue between teachers and students through the medium of nature. Flt.Lt. Miss Shiwalee Deshpande, founder of Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha pointed out that the core founding principles of her defense academy such as fearlessness, awareness and self-discipline closely aligned with the lessons of the LTN module. Mr. Arvind Chandorkar, trustee and translator of the record setting Krishna’s Butter Project, shared his experiences in translating the module into Marathi medium and recalled the insight and guidance that he received from author Sri Madhusudan Damle during the development of the module.
