The government has changed the rules in the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund Scheme. The patient’s photograph will now have to be submitted to the hospitals after being ‘GEO-tagged’.
The Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Fund for the poor provides funding for ‘angioplasty’, ‘bypass surgery’, cancer treatment, ‘dialysis’, ‘cochlear implant’ for congenitally deaf children, all types of organ transplants, treatment for burn patients due to road or electrical accidents, heart surgery for congenitally small children. The government has made some changes to bring transparency to this scheme.
As per the new change, a minimum of 30 beds are required in a hospital to attach a hospital to the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund. The previous hospitals participating in this scheme will now have to increase the number of beds. Or they will be excluded from the scheme. Hospitals are required to provide their photograph with a ‘GEO-tag’. Affiliated hospitals will be contacted by the concerned department over the phone before disbursement of financial assistance from the scheme. Hospitals will have to send the ‘GEO-Tag’ photograph of the patient. It will be clear when and at what time the patient is receiving treatment in the hospital. Some other rules have also been changed. Therefore, it will not be possible to get treatment in a private hospital and later try to cheat money.
