The 16 passengers of a Nagpur-Dhule bus had a narrow escape due to the alert driver. The driver immediately evacuated the passengers when he saw smoke coming out of the engine at Kondhali Bus Stand on Thursday morning.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus bearing number plate MH-14 BT 5034 departed from Nagpur at 5.30 am with 16 passengers on board. Around 7 am the driver saw smoke emanating from the engine and realized that the engine had caught fire. He immediately directed the passengers to come out of the bus and used a fire extinguisher to defuse the fire.
