Housekeepers Week is about showing appreciation for housekeepers for their hard work. Since 1981, the IEHA, or the Integrated Environment and Health Assessment, officially recognised the day and since then, it has spread globally as a week-long celebration for those who work in housekeeping.
Various activities were organized for students such as Know the Housekeeping Department, presentations, a Best out of Waste competition, an Eco-friendly Slogan Competition, and a quiz Competition. Batches were given to all the students and the faculties. The formal inauguration was done by lighting up the samai by the Director and faculties. The event was started International Housekeeping Week by telling the importance of housekeeping. Team Housekeeping is happy to announce that our college is now a corporate member of PHA ( Professional Housekeeper Association). As international housekeeping week activities were lined up for all students. On 11th September we conducted the housekeeping department display by the 2nd year student. They explained about the different aspects of the housekeeping department with the help of posters they have made.
On 2nd day of International Housekeeping Week, our 2nd activity was power point presentation presented by 3rd year student. To judge the competition we had judges Assistant Prof . Vipula Soni and Assistant Prof . Vishal Chaware. It was great to have so much knowledge from this presentation.
On the 3rd day of International Housekeeping Week, our 3rd activity was Best out of Waste presented by 1st year students. Students prepared handbags, cushions, mats, cardboard frames, mobile pouches etc. To judge this competition the judge was Asst .Prof Swati Narnaware. The student showed their creativity by using discarded linen and fabric to make the articles.
On day 4 of International Housekeeping Week, our 4th activity was eco friendly slogan competition in which students prepared various charts for Save Tree, Save Earth etc. which was Judged by Principal Ranu Sahani of Samsidh Tuli Public School. She motivated students by appreciating them and sharing their insights on the topic. On the occasion, Mr M.STuli renowned Hotelier and Chairman of the college shared small housekeeping tips and areas that can go unnoticed if the observant eye is not used The talk was in tune with the theme of the Housekeeping week- “ Everything you touch becomes awesome”.
On day 5 of International Housekeeping Week, our 5th activity was a Quiz on the Housekeeping department where students participated in groups. To conclude the International Housekeeping Week Mr . Dharmendra Singh from Hotel Center Point (Facility Manager )was invited. He explained the working procedure of the housekeeping department and the activities carried out there. He shared the importance of the Housekeeping dept esp after Covid, and the recognition received by the dept for extra inputs shared by them.
Prize distribution was done by the hands of Mr . Dharmendra Singh from Hotel Center Point and Director Urvashi Yashroy to students for all the activities.
