The much-awaited – “VIA Lady Entrepreneurs Wing Udyojika Swavalamban Mela – An all Eves’ Exhibition” in association with SIDBI from 30th Sept to 3rd Oct 2023 at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur.
Initially, UDYOJIKA was a small initiative of VIALEW to provide a platform for lady entrepreneurs to exhibit and market their products.
The event has taken a big shape and now has become the talk of town.
Now it’s an event where people in and around Nagpur wait to shop the innovative products here.
This will be the 26th year of UDYOJIKA, an event which was initiated by VIA LEW in association with Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede Trust in memory of Late Smt. Kusumtai Wankhede.
The Expo will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, New Delhi on Saturday, 30th September 2023 at 11.00 a.m. at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur.
Guest of Honour will be Dr. Shweta Pendse, Actor and writer, and Mr. Anjani Kumar Srivastava, GM & Regional Incharge, Pune Region, SIDBI.
On Concluding Day Prize Distributions on Tuesday, 3rd October 2023 from 7.00 p.m. and Chief Guest: Smt. Aachal Goyal, IAS, Addl. Commissioner – NMC.
The VIA Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing aims to bring forth the ladies of the region to utilize their talents and entrepreneurship for not only their own benefit but also to help fellow women by providing employment opportunities. Women have always been great managers at their homes and workplaces and have an art to strike a perfect Work-life balance.
LEW has been organizing regular seminars, workshops, symposiums, industrial visits, training, and demonstrations for women from time to time to upgrade their skills. In the past, the Wing had invited many speakers and experts from various fields to guide the lady entrepreneurs and advise them on the finer points of entrepreneurship. There has been an effort to provide insight on every aspect of entrepreneurship right from starting an industry, identifying of project, arranging finances to actually seeing the project through. All in all, the wing aims to bring out the best in any lady entrepreneur. This also leads to others being influenced and motivated by their entrepreneurial journey and at the same time, it also creates a lot of more employment opportunities.
The response to the Wing has grown by leaps and bounds every year. However, it was realized that women entrepreneurs find it difficult to market their products with their limited resources. The VIA Lady Entrepreneurs Wing thus, thought of providing a platform for Ladies to exhibit and market their products. This gave birth to UDYOJIKA. Making an impact in its very first edition the UDYOJIKA – An All Eves Exhibition has grown stronger and today this has become an annual event of Orange City. This year about 100 entrepreneurs will also display their products.
This year, UDYOJIKA shall showcase Garments, Imitation Jewellery, Purses and bags, Handicrafts, Kansumar and Kichan Wear, Health Care Products; Corporate Gifting, Garments and jewelry, Handmade Kurtis, Metal Wall Hanging, Interior Accessories; Metal Hanging Light, Sarees & Dress Materials; Tupperware, Kosa Silk & Cotton Sarees, Garments; Wall Paperd, Home Decor Items, Hand Embroidery Handicrafts, Kichan Wear, Chemical free herbal products, Toran, Bags, Garments, Joys, General & Career Counselling, Banarasi Dress & Duptta, Banglore Silk Sarees, Gujrat Cotton Dress Material, Bed sheets/ Shwal, Asam Silk sarees and again many more interesting things are awaited for our charming visitors.
This year, we have given more than 15% of stalls to rural artisans and tribals to give them commercial platforms.
We are covering almost all districts of Vidarbha region viz. Amravati, Chandrapur, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Nagpur.
Participating are rural artisans, Self Help Group members, weavers along products made by them.
Some unique products are Karvati Kathi Silk & Cotton made Saree (which has GI tagged for Vidarbha region), Bamboo Handicrafts, Gond Painting designed products, Pottery products, Natural Honey & Herbal Products, SHG member-made organic food products, etc.
Brass-made products in the form of god-goddess sculptures.
KVIB is also displaying the products they are promoting like organic honey, Handmade paper products, Khadi, etc.
There is also stall of the Office of Development Commissioner, Handloom. Like every year 5 stalls have been reserved for Kundatai, for social cause.

The Running Shield will be awarded to the `Best Lady Entrepreneur’ in the name of Late Smt. Sarlabai Thatte, who was the first lady industrialist started her entrepreneurial journey in 1930 by manufacturing gold thread, photo frames, and socks which were exported to London.
Every year, we also give awards for Best Presentation, Best Marketing, and Best Salesmanship from the stallholders, Best Entrepreneur of the Year; and Best Food Stall.
This year 1 new award- Best Rural/tribal Stall will be given to encourage the artisans from the backward regions.
And again many more things are to be left. These are only for our charming visitors. Many surprising gifts through a lucky draw for everyone in the evening at 7 O’clock.
