Nagpur Municipal Corporation has selected 67 spots for the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ (Cleanliness is the Service) mission to be held between 10 am and 11 am on October 1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people and social organisations to participate in the mission as a service to society and tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
A cleanliness drive is being implemented from September 15 in the city to October 2. The people should donate labour for one hour under the drive. Various government and private offices, educational institutions and social organisations participated in the mission.
NMC has selected 67 places where the mission will be officially implemented. People have been requested to clean their houses, premises, societies, colonies and public places voluntarily. The voluntary action by the people will help in maintaining cleanliness. Additional Commissioner Anchal Goel has expressed confidence that people would participate in the drive to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, who worked selflessly for cleanliness.
The list of 67 places has been posted on website https://swachhatahiseva.com/ events.
