One such step was taken by the Environment Club of BCCA department of DAIMSR in collaboration with the Swacch Association on Anant Chaturdashi for the eco-friendly immersion of Ganesh idols at Ramnagar ground. Approximately 15 students of the club participated wholeheartedly in the social cause. They were present at the venue at 10 am, 2 pm and 6 pm to guide the devotees on eco-friendly ways to immerse the Ganesh idols. They helped them with removing the garlands and other decorative materials from the idols and disposed them in a huge pot kept on the ground for the same.
The event was carried out under the able guidance of Dr. Monika Jain, Head, BCCA and was well co-ordinated by Dr. Shubhangi Gore, Ms. Rinki Moolchandani, Ms. Smita Mandwekar and student co-ordinators Himanshu Chandrikapure and Parth Shenwai along with Mr. Vijay Limaye, founder of eco friendly living foundation NGO, Nagpur. Other students who were present actively in the event were Saniya Yadav, Apeksha Naranje, Tanu Samundre, Priya Shivhare, Naina Gharpande, Anant Wagarhande, Om Yadav, Pritesh Chauhan and Yash Selukar. The students felt satisfied and contented by giving their contribution in saving the environment and leading towards a more sustainable development of mother nature.
