Nagpur Municipal Corporation has released its loss assessment amid claims of damage caused by floods in the city. Municipal Commissioner took stock of the damage in the city with the officials, after which the loss has been estimated at about Rs 217 crore.
The Commissioner has directed to conduct structural audit of bridges located in different parts of the city.
NMC Commissioner Dr. Abhijeet Choudhari assessed the damage caused in Nagpur along with the officials. In its assessment, Municipal Corporation found that due to the conditions created after the flood, there has been a loss of Rs 217 crore.
In this, mainly a loss of more than Rs 163 crore has been caused due to the damage to the protective walls and bridges built for the drains, while a loss of more than Rs 53 crore has been caused due to the bad condition of the city roads.
