Fake electricity bill messages are being sent to the citizens along with a mobile number for immediate contact. The message reads, “Your electric supply will be disconnected at 9.30 tonight due to non-payment of your electricity bill.”
The sender asks consumers to download software by sending a fake link for online payment from personal mobile number to paybill. If you respond to it, there is a high possibility that the money in the bank account will be stolen by hacking the mobile or computer. Therefore, MSEDCL has requested that consumers should completely ignore such fake messages.
