Three lakh passengers were caught in the hands of the officials during the five-month special ticket-checking campaign conducted by the Central Railway authorities. The railway authorities recovered Rs 18 crore from these passengers as a fine. A special ticket-checking campaign was continuously implemented from April 2023.
As many as 2 lakh, 98 thousand passengers were examined in five months. Most of them were traveling without taking tickets. It was found that some people had booked general tickets and traveled in AC coaches, while some people had illegally transported by train without booking luggage. The investigation team recovered a fine of Rs. 18 crores from them.
This ticket-checking drive and a fine collection were carried out in and around Nagpur, Wardha, Amla, and Ballarshah railway stations of the Nagpur division of Central Railway. Officers and employees of the Amla Depot team who caught the most passengers and collected the maximum amount of fine from them in this campaign were honored with a certificate by the Railway.
