A program called the Rotary Youth Exchange is open for students of higher secondary schools aged between 15 and 18. As part of this curriculum, students visit foreign nations to become fluent in the local language and culture as well as serve as cultural ambassadors for their own nation.
Being a school-based program, both the long-term and short-term exchanges last for one complete academic term, or 10 months. For four to six weeks.
The Rotary Youth Exchange programme is an exchange program for higher secondary school students, aged between 15 to 18 years. Under this programme, students travel to other countries to learn about the culture and the language, as well act as a cultural ambassador for their own country
Being a school-based programme, the exchange duration is of one full academic term of 10 months for long term programme and for short term programme. It is for 4 to 6 weeks.
The goals of this exchange program are to increase global understanding and peace by giving young people the opportunity to observe firsthand some of the achievements and differences of people in other nations, to broaden their perspectives by learning to live with and interact with people from various cultural backgrounds, and to improve their leadership and communication abilities.
All kids between the ages of 15 and 18 who are from both Rotarian and non-Rotarian households are welcome to participate in this program.
This is a programme which gives an opportunity to a young person to develop into a responsible global citizen. This year Rotary Club is hosting 10 youth exchange students from various countries while 15 students from our District 3030 have gone on this exchange programme to France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Belgium and USA. Any student who is interested can apply, through any Rotary Club.
