In its sustained efforts to ensure safe and comfortable travel, as well as to provide better service to genuine rail users, the Central Railway Nagpur Division conducted a massive ticket checking drive under the guidance of Shri Tushar Kant Pandey, Divisional Railway Manager, and the direction of Shri Ashutosh Shrivastava, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, on October 20, 2023.
The special operation encompassed ticket checking on 22 trains and resulted in the collection of a substantial sum of Rs 12.15 Lakhs from 2,034 passengers who were found to be traveling either without a ticket or in an irregular manner, as well as from unbooked luggage carried by passengers.
This operation was successfully carried out by a dedicated team of railway personnel, including 110 ticket checking staff, 7 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, and 6 Commercial Inspectors, all of whom played a pivotal role in ensuring compliance of extant Railway rules. Commercial officers closely monitored the operation, overseeing its smooth execution while adhering to established protocols.
The Central Railway earnestly appeals to the traveling public to travel with valid journey tickets, as it is essential for a hassle-free and secure journey. Furthermore, visitors entering railway platforms and ticketing areas are requested to purchase valid platform tickets to avoid incurring any penal charges.
Public is advised to purchase tickets from authorised sources and discourage touts and unauthorised elements.
