Nepal was struck by a powerful earthquake of 6.1 magnitude on Sunday morning at 7.39 am. The epicentre was at Dhating Khari. This was followed by tremors at 8.08 am of 4.2.; at 8.28 am at 4.3 and at 8.59 am at 4.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale.
Mahaashtami is being celebrated in temples. Heavy rush in temples was seen since early morning.
According to local authorities, two old buildings were damaged due to the earthquake.
Tremors felt in Bihar
North-Western Bihar was struck by an earthquake of the magnitude of 5.2 on Sunday around 7.24 am.
As per initial information, no loss of life or property has been reported. Tremors were felt in Patna, Gopalganj, Motihari, Chhapra, Bagha, and many other districts of Bihar. The tremors were a result of the earthquake that struck Nepal in the morning.
