In view of thousands of people from across the nation visiting Deekshabhoomi to attend the Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, the civic administration has made arrangements to facilitate movement of vehicles, diverting traffic and preventing entry of vehicles in areas around the Deekshabhoomi. The arrangements have been made till October 25.
ROADS CLOSED: Entry of all types of vehicles has been restricted between Bajaj Nagar Square, Laxminagar Square. Mata Kacheri Square and Kachipura Square, the four corners of Deekshabhoomi. Vehicles from Kriplani Square towards Deekshabhoomi, From Kalpana Building to Kachipura Square are not allowed. Vehicles carrying goods for the Food Zone are allowed to enter from Kriplani Square.
PARKING: Parking facilities have been provided on both sides of roads from Kriplani Square to Ajni Flyover; Dharampeth Science College Ground; Dharampeth Arts and Commerce College, Dhrampet High School; Rani Laxmibai Sabhagruha Ground; Bajaj Nagar Basketball Ground; Modern High School Ground NEERI; Patwardha Ground; New DP Road,
DRAGON PALACE: Roads leading to Dragon Palace on Kamptee Road have also been closed for vehicular traffic. Roads from Porwal College, Y-Point tp Bhoyar College T-Point will remain closed for all types of vehicles.
The road between Pachasheel Square and Jhansi Rani Square is already closed as work on the bridge over the canal near Dheeran Girls School is in progress.
Police Control Room: A temporary police control room has been installed with about 800 police personnel deputed near the Deekshabhoomi. The police force will be able to monitor the movement of people through CCTV Cameras installed in the premises.
