The Agriculture College has allotted its 6980 square meters of land to Mahametro for parking and other work. In return for this land, Mahametro will construct two hostels for agriculture college with 80 rooms for post graduate students and 150 rooms for of undergraduate students.
Mahametro network is expanding in Nagpur city. The first phase is almost completed and the second phase has also been approved. There is a need for space for parking and other works in the Metro Bhawan area which is the headquarters of Mahametro. For that The land of Agriculture College under Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola is situated in Ramdaspeth. A request was made to the University of Agriculture to transfer 6980 sq m of land free of cost.
But the Agricultural University then refused to give the land as the land was required for the new undergraduate and postgraduate students’ hostel. But the Chief Minister made a way out by mediating in this. According to this, the College of Agriculture will give this land to Metro and in return, Metro will construct both the hostels.
