Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced Disaster Mitigation Measures Plan of Nagpur city. Under this plan, Rs 848.72 crore will be spent for retaining walls, bridges and other constructions on river and various nullah in the city.
Various works are going to be done through Nagpur Municipal Corporation, NIT and State Government to keep in view the damage caused due to heavy rain in Nagpur on September 22.
Under this fund, various measures will be taken to strengthen Ambazari lake and dam. Apart from this, the construction of NIT skating rink will be improved. Deepening of Nag river and construction of strong protection wall will also be done under this project. a project of reconstruction of bridges and roads destroyed due to rain will also be undertaken.
