When Pandya attempted to block a shot in his follow-through during his opening over against Bangladesh last month, he looked to have twisted his left ankle. He was taken for scans and did not participate in the remainder of the match. It is understood by ESPNcricinfo that he sustained ligament damage and has been receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy located in Bengaluru.
