With the implementation of an e-office system, the state administration is promoting the adoption of paperless practices. The Mahavitaran, also known as Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution CoLtd. (MSEDCL), had already started the process of going paperless. Discounts on power bills are now available to customers who select the Go Green plan.
Those opting for Go Green will receive their bills via email, eliminating the need for printed paper bills. Each bill will come with a Rs 10 discount, amounting to a yearly saving of Rs 120. Within MSEDCL’s Nagpur regional division, which serves the entire Vidarbha region, a total of 54,275 customers have embraced this option. Notably, Nagpur leads with 19,072 customers, followed by 13,251 in Akola, 12,079 in Amravati, 5,135 in Chandrapur, and 4,738 in Gondia circles, all choosing the Go Green alternative.
MSEDCL said that opting for the Go Green alternative reduces paper consumption. and contributes to environmental conservation. Cus- tomers who choose this option will receive their monthly bills as soft copies via email. The company’s website also provides access to the original format of the current month’s bill, which can also be easily downloaded.
