The Congress Congress-backed group Candidate Mangla Rajesh Shete has won the election of Sarpanch Dhapewada Gram Panchayat. Dhapewada is the native village of union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Mangala defeated Nisha Sudhakar Khadse, the sarpanch candidate of the BJP-backed group, by just 6 votes.
Shete got 2011 votes and Khadse got 2005 votes. In this 17-member Gram panchayat, 10 from the Congress-supported group, 6 from the BJP-supported group and one independent candidate have won the elections.
