Various activities are being implemented to increase the number of tourists in Pench Tiger Reserve. Last year more than 85 thousand tourists have visited this project. As the number of foreign tourists is continuously increasing, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari has given instructions for keeping reserved quota for foreign tourists.
A meeting of the Local Advisory Committee of Pench Tiger Reserve was held in the auditorium of the Divisional Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner and Chairperson of the Local Advisory Committee Vijayalakshmi Bidari.
Various measures will be implemented to develop the livelihood of the local people while regulating nature tourism in the Pench Tiger Reserve as well as creating tourism facilities in the area around the project. As the number of tourists visiting the Pench Tiger Reserve is increasing, it was decided to increase the number of tourists in the tourism gate.
Khursapar Gate is preferred for tourism, so a decision was taken in the meeting to connect West Pench and Khursapar Gate.
To promote water tourism, boat tourism will be started from Navegaon Khairi to Kirangisarra for a length of 25 km. A full day safari can also be enjoyed. A decision was taken to start a sales center for various items made by local citizens at the gate of the project. the local committee and self-help groups of Pench Tiger Reserve will be given necessary subsidy to create facilities for the tourists in the village itself. incentives will be given to avoid the use of plastic.
The meeting also decided to promote boat tourism while creating facilities for tourists up to the waterfall at Ambakhori, provide information to tourists about the habitat of tigers and other wild animals in Pench Tiger Reserve, and also use electric vehicles for tourism.
