Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar visited Sitabuldi Market area on wednesday. He took stock of the encroachment and traffic problems. Commissioner gave a strict warning to the hawkers sitting illegally on the road.
Due to Diwali season, there is a crowd for shopping in Sitabuldi market. Other side the road has been taken over by Road stall. Due to which it has become difficult for people to walk in the market area. Recently, there was a fire in the shops. During this time, due to encroachment on the road, fire tenders found it difficult to reach the spot.
The Municipal Corporation has registered 103 hawkers. Accordingly, they have been given license and space to set up their shops. Marking is being done accordingly. Illegal shopkeepers will not be allowed to Stand on Main Road. Work is also being done regarding traffic in the area.
A special squad has been formed for the Sitabuldi market. It will be headed by DCP EOW. It will also include DCP Zone 1 and DCP Traffic. Together, all three will solve the traffic problem including hawkers in the area.
