The District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar informed that the State Government has approved the implementation of higher-level health services in difficult and rural areas in Nagpur district. The ambitious programme under “Shasan Apulya Daari’ has been planned under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Dr Itankar addressed senior officers of the Health Department on Thursday. Information in advance about preventive measures for serious ailments is a part of the mission. A machinery for this purpose has been developed.
Implementation of Reproductive and Child Health, Reducing mother and child mortality rate, preventing non-communicable diseases, conducting tests for diabetes, and blood pressure once in a year for people above 30 years of age; conducting tests for cancer once in five years, implementing leprosy and TB eradication programme; generating awareness about food, nutrition, cleanliness, vaccination of children and mother etc are part of the mission. The programmes will be implemented at the village level so that the burden on health machinery is reduced.
Implementing all government schemes effectively; and issuing Ayushyaman Bharat Card, and Abha Card are major goals of the project. A total of 26 health vehicles called ‘Arogyavahini’ will be made available. Health workers will be appointed and their work will be monitored through GPS system.
Medical Officers at Primary Health Centres will be in charge of at the village level. Anganwadi Sevika, Asha workers will be involved in the implementation of the programme.
