Doctors of AIIMS in Nagpur have successfully reattached a claw that was separated from a hand. The young man was discharged after about 25 days of treatment. Now soon the young man will also be able to work with his hands. Doctors believe that this type of operation is performed rarely in medical history.
A 38-year-old youth resident of Pusad was working on a compressor. Suddenly the hand went inside and the claw broke and fell on the other side. Blood started flowing due to the separation of the claw of the right hand. The family members immediately took him to a doctor in Pusad. The doctor advised to take him to AIIMS. Admitted to AIIMS at 10 am on 13 October. Since the case was serious, the doctors informed the family that an operation would be done immediately.
AIIMS plastic surgeons Dr. Dhananjay Nakade, Dr. Al Ikayan Fidvi, deafness specialist Dr. Natasha, Dr. Om Shubham Asai, Dr. Avinash Prakash started preparations for the operation. Since the hand claw was completely separated, it was a difficult process to join it. The chances of success of this type of operation are very less. After an operation that lasted for about 9 hours, the claw was attached but due to the cut, the upper part of the thumb could not be saved. Care was taken to ensure regular blood supply. The patient was discharged after 25 days of treatment. After this, the patient thanked the doctors with folded hands.
